Christine Shanthirajah is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncturist from the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (OCTCM). At her practice, she provides acupuncture and head massages for her patients according to their individualized needs. She has specialized training & experience with Wu’s head massage and prior to this, has obtained a Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery degree from the University of Jaffna, Sri-Lanka.
Her western medicine and TCM knowledge enables her to provide patients with thorough, individualized, and comprehensive care, treating a variety of specific conditions and symptoms. This includes muscularskeletal and certain digestive, respiratory, neurological, urinary, menstrual disorders. She has patient care experiences from St. John’s Rehab Hospital and has served as a Physiotherapy Assistant at a MedRehab multidisciplinary clinic in Vaughan. She is passionate in practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine knowing that the holistic approach of TCM is an effective means of treatment and prevention of diseases. It is very beneficial in the maintenance of good health overall despite the many demands and challenges of a busy lifestyle. Christine strives to provide acupuncture accompanied by cupping techniques, as well as an education on lifestyle modification for her patients to gain effective relief and take control of their healing. In addition, she offers Wu’s head massage to treat insomnia, stress, headache and computer vision syndrome. She is very committed to helping people feel their best, utilizing all her medical knowledge and experience.
In addition to treating her patients, Christine currently enjoys teaching courses related to TCM and western medicine at the OCTCM and Canadian College OF Traditional Chinese Medicine.
